Safe In Cyberspace

Hello Readers: Welcome to November. I am going to dedicate the next few weeks to resources and websites that will provide information regarding safety online.  Enjoy.

Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that takes place electronically, using the Internet or cell phone.  It is important for children, parents and school staff to be aware of cyberbullying as more and more children become immersed in the digital world.

I have added many reliable websites and resources that I hope you find helpful.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills

Hello Readers:
On the weekend I was trained in ASIST ~ Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.  During this training I had the opportunity to learn skills to better understand the needs of a person at risk of suicide and how to use suicide first - aid to meet those needs. If you would like more information about this amazing training, please contact me at the school.
Imagine.... a suicide-safer community.

The monster within-or how your worries try to fool you:

Anxiety is born in the minds of very creative and talented worriers.  Once those worries get loose, they seem to get a life of their own.  Although they are entirely dependent on you for their existence, they start to fool you into thinking otherwise. Habits

"Motivation is what gets you started.  Habit is what keeps you going."  J. Rohn

Be Mindful

"Those who mind, do not matter.  Those that matter, do not mind."

something to keep in mind:

Those who bully others often provide excuses for their behaviours....excuses that give them permission, in their own minds, to treat someone badly.
